TopCon 9/20/14

I had an AWESOME at the first TopCon (Topeka Comic Convention)! I meet with several local and regional comic book artists and publishers as well as Topeka shops The Gatekeeper, Oddfellows, and a new store Boom Comics.  I took a picture with Boom's issue of The Incredible Hulk #181 (the first appreance of Wolverine my second all time favorite character!) There was a great crowd out and I hope this event continues for many years to come

KU Football home opener 2014

I was given the opportunity to go KU's football home opener this season!  I haven't been back to Memorial Stadium since my father took our family to see his Oklahoma Sooners play KU in 1994.  KU played a pretty good first half but seemed to fall apart a bit in the second.  Win or Lose, I'm a Jayhawk for Life!

The Traveling Vietnam War Memorial at Forbes Field

In late August, I visited the Traveling Vietnam War Memorial at Forbes Field.  What made the experience more special and meaningful is that I was accompanied by my wife's grandfather, a Vietnam Veteran.  Being at the memorial with him and hearing the stories of some of the men on the wall really hit home, even though I don't know anyone on the wall.  My uncles fought in Vietnam but were fortunate to come home and continue successful lives following the war.  In this age of pride in the American Solider, the veterans and men on the memorial deserve complete respect and dignity
